Lady Marmalade, Stones corner
If you are looking for a small, quiet, cosy, yet delicious breakfast place, this might be the perfect hideout for you! Lady Marmalade came highly recommended by many of my cafe hunting gurus. And I am glad to say that I wasn’t disappointed with cafe stop no.10! There’s something unique about the place when you step in… Unlike my usual preference for girly cafes with flowery designs and wooden tables, this eccentric decorated cafe takes you into a whole other world with mismatched cutleries, weird-looking animals as your table numbers and interesting wall decorations.
Located on the corner of Logan Road and Cleveland St, this cafe is a favourite to many of the locals. My friend ordered their famous baked eggs with house beans and warm soldiers. It was topped with some goat cheese and minced meat. I am aware that it sounds like a weird mix of food. Indeed, it is a unique combination that I have not tried previously but I was impressed by the mixture of flavours! They actually tasted good together! Just like the famous saying goes “do not judge a book by it’s cover”, don’t judge a food by it’s description on the menu or just by looking at it, you might be in for a surprise. A personal food philosophy of mine is never to say “I don’t like it” until I have tasted it
I, on the other hand, went for their Haloumi roasted pumpkins and was blown away by it’s simplicity and elegance. That’s how food is supposed to be.
Their prices are affordable. It can’t get any better than this. We paid roughly about $25 all up for both dishes and a pot of English breakfast tea. Good price coupled with friendly service just makes Lady Marmalade the way to start your day. A good breakfast is worth traveling for, after all, breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day. And can it get any better? They serve breakfast all day… so all you people who love to sleep in on the weekends, you will never miss out on breakfast here! So if you are into cafes in Brissy, this place is not to be missed!
On a side note, my cafe hunting endeavours are never going to be the same again with this new cafe hunting buddy, and it’s plus point that he’s a photographer

I love a cafe that has tea pot cozy’s on their front counter or shelves. Winner for me.
