Blessed in both directions…

Today is mentor’s day, and if I had to try and think of a few phases to describe my mentor… it would be:

  1. Her endless overflowing river of tears…
  2. A heart that is full of mercy and compassion
  3. Cheeky and loves to play jokes on people she is close to (e.g. tricking someone to come in her pyjamas to a party when no one else is in their pyjamas)
  4. Firm, yet gentle at the same
  5. A woman of deep convictions

I hope you do know that I am truly thankful for you being in my life. I know many of the things you do for me goes unnoticed and under appreciated. And I shouldn’t wait for days like Mentor’s day and your birthday to appreciate you… I am blessed to have you in my life. Like I said to you today, no amounts of thank-you’s can measure up to the things you have done for me. Indeed – sacrificial, relational and big hearted :)

And to my mentees… thank you for all your love – hugs, gifts (the bear and cupcakes), words of affirmation (all your letters), acts of service (pumping of patrol and washing my car) and quality time (prayers). I am so blessed by each and everyone one of you… those encouragements and gifts really meant so much. My two dear girls who pumped my patrol, cleaned the bird droppings off my car and cleaned every window on my car, I was really touched by it too! I saw the video :) Thank you for bearing with my weaknesses and knowing that I am not perfect. Thank you for just letting me be a part of your life. Thank you for spurring me on as well. Let’s continue to grow in God together!

As a mentee, I am blessed. As a mentor, I am also blessed. So I am blessed in both direction. It’s definitely a privilege to serve in God’s family.
